Series of Events The Mo-Kan-Neb Poker Championship is a series of City, State, and Regional Championships as set forth on the calendar from time to time. Each event may have it's own set of entry rules and it's own set of awards & prizes as described for that event. A Grand Champion will be selected based on the best performance by a player over the entire series.
Title Bracelets Awarded In addition to cash prizes and trophies, each tournament in the series may award a Championship Title and Bracelet for that event, see details for each event separately. In addition, the player with the best overall performance for the entire series will be selected as the Grand Champion.
MoKanNeb Grand Champion Title & Bracelet The 2009 Mo-Kan-Neb Tri-State Poker Grand Champion title and bracelet will be awarded to the player with the highest overall performance in the series. Points will be awarded only for finishing in the top 10% of an event. The points will be scaled similar but not necessarily identical to the sliding scale of cash payout. They will be similar in the sense that the difference in points between 1st and 2nd will be greater than the difference between 2nd and 3rd and so on. Points will not "count against you" so there is not a risk that playing in a particular event can in any way reduce your cumulative score.
Must I play in every event to qualify for the MoKanNeb Grand Champion Title? No. Not playing in any particular event will not count against you.
MoKanNeb Poker Hall of Fame Induction No other region of the country, with the possible exception of Texas has as rich and colorful history associated with the game of poker than the Central States. The Board of Trustees and Curators of the MoKanNeb PHF have now declared that the 2009 MoKanNeb Poker Grand Champion will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame alongside the very greatest historical figures in the game. You can visit the MoKanNeb Poker Hall of Fame here.
Tournament Descriptions and Games Played The 2009 Championship Series includes a variety of poker games. The majority of the events feature No-Limit Texas Holdem. In specially-designated events Kansas City Lowball and No-Limit Mixed Game Poker (Holdem, Omaha, Lowball, and 5-Stud) are also played. See calendar and details for each specific event.
Kansas State Championship, Round 1 and Final Round The Kansas State No-Limit Texas Holdem Championship will be held Dec. 19. Is there a separate buy-in for each event? Yes. Qualifying players for the Final Round are still responsible for the buy-in ($20 sugg donation) to enter the Final Round.
Typical Event Info, Sugg. Donation, Rebuy Options, and Awards

The exact buy-in and re-buy structure is described for each event in the series. Generally, it is a $20 buy-in (sugg. donation) with one $20 re-buy available. The re-buy is a multiple of the big blind at the time so players effectively have two full opportunities to win.

Eligibility Players must be of legal age to play in any event. Management reserves the right to deny access to anyone they deem ineligible.
Entry and Wild Card Round Details Players may compete in as many events as they wish. The performance scores of the Top 10% finishers of each event will be tallied and those scores will count towards the designation of the 2009 Mo-Kan-Neb No-Limit Poker Grand Champion title and bracelet.
Double Elimination Double elimination is one of the factors that makes this "Kansas Toughest Poker Tournament". To claim these Title Bracelets, the Champions will have had to "beat every player twice". This removes any doubt of who the real champions are. With double elimination it takes more than one bad beat or one 50-to-1 river to defeat you. This increases the skill factor and reduces the luck factor in the game. All tournaments will feature a re-buy option allowing players to acquire a substantial chipstack upon bust-out and/or as an add-on at a designated time. See each event for details.
Prizes and Awards Prizes will be announced at the event based on attendance but will generally include: 1) Cash payouts to top 10% of finishers; 2) Trophies 3) Championship Title and Bracelet to the winner; 4) Final table qualifies for the Kansas State Holdem Final Round and are exempt from Round 1; 5) All players in top 10% will earn points toward the Mo-Kan-Neb Grand Championship Title and Bracelet.
